Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Monday, both Sensex and Nifty opened in the negative territory but at 11.29 am, both were seen trading in the green zone. While Sensex was up by 0.70 per cent at 57,504.77 levels, Nifty climbed 0.59 per cent to be at 17,127.50 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include Reliance Industries, HCL Technologies, and TCS, which soared 3.36 per cent, 2.85 per cent & 1.97 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Nestle, HDFC & Bajaj Auto turned out to be the top losers, which tanked 1.11 per cent, 1.04 per cent, and 0.99 per cent, respectively.
