Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened in the red zone on the third trading session of the week; however, at 11.28 am, both were spotted in the positive territory. Sensex was seen trading at 60,351.20 levels, up by 0.05 per cent while Nifty inched higher by 0.01 per cent to be at 18,001.00 levels.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Power Grid, Asian Paints, and NTPC, which surged 2.83 per cent, 2.57 per cent & 2.12 per cent, respectively.
Besides, Reliance dipped 0.88 per cent while Bharti Airtel and Dr Reddy's Laboratories plunged 0.78 per cent each.
