Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened in the negative territory on the second day of the week. At 12.13 pm, both Sensex & Nifty slipped 0.15 per cent & 0.12 per cent, trading at 60,629.74 and 18,087.25 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Maruti, Bajaj Finserv, and Power Grid, which surged 4.20 per cent, 1.78 per cent & 1.43 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are Reliance, State Bank of India, and NTPC, which plunged 1.27 per cent, 1.00 per cent & 0.88 per cent, respectively.
