Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened in the positive territory on the first day of the week. At 11.23 am, both Sensex and Nifty gained 0.23 per cent & 0.19 per cent, trading at 60,824.43 and 18,136.50 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Power Grid, Asian Paints, and ITC, which surged 2.53 per cent, 1.52 per cent & 0.99 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv, which slipped by 1.46 per cent, 1.26 per cent & 1.22 per cent, respectively.
