Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened in the negative territory on Tuesday. However, soon after that, it turned green but at 12.17 pm, it was seen back in the red zone. Both Sensex and Nifty tanked 0.19 per cent & 0.13 per cent, trading at 60,430.33 and 18,044.50 levels, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank of India, and Larsen & Toubro turned out to be the top three gainers today, up by 1.62 per cent, 1.61 per cent 1.13 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are HDFC, HDFC Bank, and Maruti, which slipped by 1.72 per cent, 1.45 per cent & 1.39 per cent, respectively.
