Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Monday, Sensex and Nifty opened in the positive territory but soon, drifted towards the red zone. However, at 12.26 pm, both were spotted back in the green zone. Sensex was trading at 60,273.84 levels, up by 0.34 per cent while Nifty was at 17,967.30 levels, up by 0.28 per cent.
UltraTech Cement, Titan, and Bajaj Finserv turned out to be the top three gainers today, which surged 4.48 per cent, 4.01 per cent & 2.83 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include IndusInd Bank, State Bank of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, which tanked 10.27 per cent, 1.86 per cent & 1.48 per cent, respectively.
