Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex & Nifty kicked off Monday’s trading session on a positive note and even at 11.58 am, both were trading in the green zone. While Sensex was up by 0.46 per cent at 59,578.12 levels, Nifty inched higher by 0.53 per cent and was seen trading at 17,765.20 levels.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Induslnd Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Tata Steel, which climbed 6.70 per cent, 3.85 per cent & 3.17 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Reliance Industries turned out to be the top losers today, plunging 2.87 per cent, 1.79 per cent & 1.17 per cent, respectively.
