Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Thursday, Sensex & Nifty opened in the negative territory, and even at 11.50 am, both were seen trading in the red zone. Sensex plunged 0.70 per cent at 60,717.45 levels while Nifty tumbled 0.86 per cent to be at 18,054.30 levels.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Induslnd Bank, L&T, and Maruti, which surged 5.36 per cent, 2.98 per cent & 2.02 per cent, respectively.
On the other hand, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Bank turned out to be the top losers today, which slipped 2.98 per cent, 2.06 per cent & 2.04 per cent, respectively.
