Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Wednesday at 11.29 am, both the domestic benchmark indices were trading in the positive territory. Sensex and Nifty climbed 0.27 per cent & 0.28 per cent to be at 61,513.90 and 18,318.80 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Asian Paints, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and ICICI Bank, which surged 4.69 per cent, 2.40 per cent & 2.18 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Bajaj Finserv turned out to be the top three losers today, which tanked 5.12 per cent, 4.06 per cent & 2.03 per cent, respectively.
