Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
After opening in the green, both Sensex and Nifty plunged into the red zone on the fourth trading session of the week. At 11.35 am, Sensex was trading down by 0.56 per cent at 60,916.32 levels while Nifty tanked 0.48 per cent to be at 18,178.85 levels.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Kotak Mahindra Bank, Power Grid, and HDFC, which surged 3.16 per cent, 1.00 per cent & 0.94 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, HCL Technologies, and Tech Mahindra turned out to be the top three losers today, inching lower by 2.26 per cent, 2.22 per cent & 2.05 per cent, respectively.
