Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On the third trading session of the week, both Sensex and Nifty plunged 0.49 per cent each around noon. At 12.04 pm on Wednesday, Sensex was trading at 61,413.52 while Nifty was at 18,328.65.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, and HCL Technologies, which surged 3.49 per cent, 2.75 per cent & 1.83 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Titan, Hindustan Unilever, and HDFC turned out to be the top three losers, which plunged 2.47 per cent, 1.79 per cent & 1.57 per cent, respectively.
