Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Thursday, both Sensex and Nifty opened in the green zone. At 11.50 am, Sensex was trading at 61,189.06, up by 0.74 per cent while Nifty was at 18,316.30, up by 0.85 per cent.
ITC, Tech Mahindra, and Larsen & Toubro emerged as the top three gainers today, inching higher by 4.83 per cent, 3.29 per cent & 2.17 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include Induslnd Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Mahindra & Mahindra, which plunged 1.04 per cent, 1.02 per cent & 0.84 per cent, respectively.
