Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On the third trading session of the week, both Sensex and Nifty opened in the green zone. At 11.48 am, Sensex was trading at 60,627.74, up by 0.57 per cent while Nifty was at 18,142.90, climbing 0.84 per cent.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Power Grid, and Titan emerged as the top three gainers today, inching higher by 5.10 per cent, 4.27 per cent & 3.26 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include Maruti, State Bank of India, and Hindustan Unilever, which tanked 0.99 per cent, 0.81 per cent & 0.74 per cent, respectively.
