Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The market opened in the green on the fourth trading session of the week. At 11.36 am, Sensex was trading at 59,727.37, up by 0.91 per cent while Nifty was at 17,806.20, up by 0.91 per cent.
Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Maruti emerged as the top three gainers today, inching higher by 9.38 per cent, 4.39 per cent & 4.09 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include Axis Bank, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and HDFC, which tanked 0.48 per cent, 0.25 per cent & 0.24 per cent, respectively.
