Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened in the green on the third trading session of the week. At 11.43 am on Wednesday, Sensex was trading at 59,835.93, up by 0.15 per cent while Nifty was at 17,837.60, up by 0.09 per cent.
HDFC Bank, HDFC, and Bajaj Finance emerged as the top three gainers today, which climbed 1.94 per cent, 1.86 per cent & 1.14 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, HCL Technologies, Titan, and Induslnd Bank turned out to be the top three losers today, which plunged 1.20 per cent, 1.11 per cent & 1.06 per cent, respectively.
