Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty kicked off Tuesday’s session on a negative note; however, at 11.34 am, both were spotted to be in the green zone. Sensex was seen trading at 59,311.15, up by 0.02 per cent while Nifty was up by 0.05 per cent at 17,700.15.
The top three gainers of today’s session are Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, and Induslnd Bank, which climbed 2.14 per cent, 1.64 per cent & 1.38 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and ICICI Bank, which tanked 0.99 per cent, 0.93 per cent & 0.84 per cent, respectively.
