Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Monday, the domestic benchmark indices opened in the green. At 11.32 am, Sensex was trading at 59,408.02, up by 1.09 per cent while Nifty was at 17,710.15, up by 1.02 per cent.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Bajaj Finserv, NTPC, and Mahindra & Mahindra, which surged 2.67 per cent, 2.61 per cent & 2.48 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Tata Steel, Power Grid, and Bajaj Auto turned out to be the top three losers, which inched lower by 0.44 per cent, 0.42 per cent & 0.02 per cent, respectively.
