Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Thursday, both Sensex & Nifty opened mildly red and traded in the negative territory for some time. However, at 11.40 am, both were spotted to be in the green zone. Sensex was trading at 59,493.15, up by 0.13 per cent while Nifty was at 17,717.80, up by 0.04 per cent.
The top three gainers of today’s session are Bajaj Finserv, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, which climbed 1.87 per cent, 1.79 per cent & 1.59 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers include Power Grid, Asian Paints & Bajaj Auto, which tanked 2.43 per cent, 1.31 per cent, and 1.19 per cent, respectively.
