Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Wednesday at 11.51 am, both Sensex and Nifty were trading in the negative territory. While Sensex was down by 0.60 per cent at 59,310.76, Nifty was at 17,671.60, down by 0.43 per cent.
The top three gainers of today’s session include NTPC, Power Grid, and Sun Pharma, which soared by 5.65 per cent, 3.13 per cent & 1.65 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank & UltraTech Cement turned out to be the top three losers, plunging by 1.84 per cent, 1.63 per cent & 1.62 per cent, respectively.
