Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Tuesday at 11.17 am, both Sensex and Nifty were seen trading in the negative territory. While Sensex was down by 0.51 per cent at 59,772.34, Nifty was at 17,787.65, down by 0.38 per cent.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Power Grid, NTPC, and Titan, which soared by 5.48 per cent, 3.39 per cent & 1.87 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel, HCL Technologies, and Asian Paints turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked by 2.49 per cent, 2.32 per cent & 1.76 per cent, respectively.
