Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Monday at 11.49 am, both Sensex and Nifty were seen trading in the red zone. While Sensex was at 59,995.88, down by 0.09 per cent, Nifty was at 17,822.40, down by 0.17 per cent, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Maruti, M&M, and HDFC Bank, which soared 3.88 per cent, 2.21 per cent & 1.51 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra & Infosys, which plunged 3.54 per cent, 2.88 per cent, and 2.21 per cent, respectively.
