Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
After opening at a record level on Friday, Sensex continued trading in the positive territory. At 11.41 am, Sensex was up by 0.51 per cent at 60,190.36 while Nifty was at 17,910.15 up by 0.49 per cent.
Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel, and HCL Technologies emerged as the top three gainers, which were up by 4.46 per cent, 3.34 per cent & 2.87 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers included Tata Steel, State Bank of India, and Hindustan Unilever, which tanked 1.61 per cent, 1.37 per cent & 1.20 per cent, respectively.
