Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
At 11.43 am on Thursday, both Sensex and Nifty were up by 1.02 per cent each, trading at 59,530.62 and 17,725.15, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session included Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, and Larsen & Toubro, which soared 5.16 per cent, 2.92 per cent & 2.21 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Dr Reddy’s, ITC, and TCS turned out to be the top three losers, plunging by 0.76 per cent, 0.29 per cent & 0.27 per cent, respectively.
