Five best & worst PSU performers in 2021 so far
Since the beginning of 2021, BSE Sensex index has inched higher by only 0.41 per cent thereby, closing at 47,949.42 on April 19, 2021, from 47,751.33 as of December 31, 2020.
During this period, the index touched its all-time high level of 52,516.76 as of February 16, 2021.
However, the BSE PSU index, which consists of 60 PSU companies, jumped 9.78 per cent to 6,346.55 as of April 19, 2021, from 5,781.29 as of December 31, 2020. During this period, the index was able to touch a higher level of around 7,354.32 recently.
Of the total 60 PSU companies included in BSE PSU index, 40 companies delivered positive returns to the shareholders so far in 2021. On the other hand, around 19 stocks have corrected less than 20 per cent in the aforementioned period.
