Escorts record highest tractor sales for December; shares rise 2 per cent
The shares of Escorts Limited were trading in the green on Friday after the company reported robust sales for December 2020.
The month of December 2020 saw the Agri machinery segment (EAM) of the company selling 7,733 tractors, the highest-ever December sales and registering a growth of 88 per cent against 4,114 tractors sold in December 2019.
The sales of domestic tractors stood at 7,230 units in December 2020 as against 3,806 units in December 2019, recording a growth of 90 per cent during the period. Similarly, export tractor sales for the month was recorded at 503 tractors as compared to 308 tractors sold in the same period for the previous year, registering a growth of 63.3 per cent.
Post-lockdown, December was the first month, where the company could supply as per the demand of the customers, Escorts stated in a filing to BSE. The company does not expect any significant supply-demand gaps, going forward, it added.
At 1 pm on Friday, the stock of Escorts Limited was trading at Rs 1,288 per share, up by 2.25 per cent or Rs 28.35 per share on BSE. Its 52-week high is Rs 1,452.85 while the 52-week low is Rs 527.10 on BSE.
