After losing the momentum for the first two trading sessions in the current week, the benchmark indices opened higher on Wednesday. However soon, the benchmark indices erased most of the initial gains and were seen trading flat amid a volatile session.
At 11.40 am, Sensex traded 0.09 per cent down whereas Nifty traded lower by 0.18 per cent. The top gaining stocks among Sensex were Kotak Mahindra Bank and Nestle India, ICICI Bank being up by more than a per cent. The Mid-Cap and small-cap indices were trading 1.12 per cent & 1.82 per cent lower, respectively. The top stocks dragging the small-cap index were Globus Spirits, GMDC, NIIT, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries, and Balrampur Chini Mills.
