One of the leading DTH connection service providers in India, Dish TV, announced that it has partnered with an Indian mobile video player app-MX Player. Post this partnership, Dish TV will showcase MX Player’s content via its Android-based set-up boxes, namely, Dish SMRT Hub and D2H stream.

Dish TV inked deal with MS Player, which is owned by Times Internet, with an ultimate purpose to expand its viewer base in India. Both the service providers have collaborated with an aim to offer quality content to a wider audience, says Abhishek Joshi, Head of Marketing & Business Partnerships at MX Player.

Meanwhile, Executive Director & Group CEO of Dish TV remarked on the partnership saying that the viewers will be able to access a large content library, spanning over ten languages, through this in-built app, which would further enhance their TV viewing experience.

The partnership comes at a time when the entire nation is locked indoors and as a result of this, the average consumption of online content has increased multifold.

MX Player, mostly known for its original content, showcases music, movies, web-series and television shows in multiple Indian languages. The app recently ranked as number one entertainment app of 2019, as per the annual FICCI report.

At the time of market closing on Tuesday, the stock of Dish TV India Ltd was trading at Rs 4.86, down by 0.21 per cent against its previous close of Rs 4.87. Its 52-week high is Rs 37.20 while, its 52-week low is Rs 3.93 on BSE.
