Cox & King slumps on back of net loss in Q4FY18
Cox & Kings reported net loss for the quarter due to higher tax expenses in the current quarter. However, the top-line and operating performance of the company was remarkable.
The revenue for the quarter rose by 36 per cent yoy to Rs. 1,576 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs. 1,159 crore in Q4FY17 and Rs. 1,348 crore in Q3FY18. The leisure business witnessed 53 per cent yoy increase during the quarter to Rs. 1,004 crore in Q4FY18.
The EBITDA for the quarter rose by 70.9 per cent yoy to Rs. 118 crore in Q4FY18 vs Rs. 1,159 crore in Q4FY17 and Rs. 159 crore in Q3FY18. The EBITDA margins for the quarter also expanded by 150 bps to 7.5 per cent vs 6 per cent in Q4FY17.
The company posted net loss of Rs. 22 crore in Q4FY18 vs net loss of Rs. 35 crore in Q4FY18 . This was largely due to Rs. 52 crores of deferred tax payment for the quarter.
For the full year, the company's revenue declined by 10.4 per cent yoy to Rs. 6,408 crore in FY18. However, EBITDA and EBITDA margin grew strongly by 49.4 per cent yoy and 600 bps. The net profit doubled to Rs. 433 crore vs Rs. 223 crore in FY17
