Companies making all time high and low in 2019

In CY2019, BSE Sensex surged 14.4 per cent closing at 41,253.74 on December 31, 2019, from 36,068.33 as on December 31, 2018. During the year, it touched the all-time high level of 41,809.96 on December 20, 2019, and recorded a 52-week low of 35,287.16 on February 02, 2019.

We have analyzed a set of stocks, which have hit their all-time high and low level during CY2019 and have taken companies with a market cap of more than Rs 100 crore into consideration.

Of the total 1,524 set of companies, only 222 companies have hit their all-time high, whereas, 187 companies hit their all-time low level.

Given below are the no. of companies, which have hit their all-time high and all-time low level during the four quarters of CY2019.

In December, when the benchmark index was making a fresh high, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Bajaj Finserv were some of the large caps, reaching their all-time highs. Among mid caps, Phoenix Mills, Essel Propack, Nesco, and Relaxo Footwear were some of the ones, which touched their all-time highs. In small caps, Hindustan Foods, Blackrose Industries, and Satia Industries were among the leaders.

On the other hand, companies, which touched all time low included IIFL Wealth management, Star Cement, SH Kelkar & Co., UFO Moviez, Apollo Micro Systems, Bharat Wire Ropes etc.

It will be interesting to watch, which of these companies would manage to make their fresh highs in 2020.
