Coal India: Production lower by 5.1 per cent for July 2019
Government of India enterprise and Maharatna categorised company, Coal India's coal production stood at 38.50 million tonnes, lower by 5.1 per cent in July 2019 compared to 40.58 million tonnes in July 2018.
Coal India Limited (CIL) published its provisional production numbers for July 2019, after market hours on Thursday. The company reported the provisional production and offtake performance of the CIL and its subsidiary companies for the month of July 2019. Coal production stood lower by 5.1 per cent at 38.50 million tonnes in July 2019 compared to 40.58 million tonnes in July 2018. Coal offtake was lower by 2.9 per cent at 46.82 million tonnes in July 2019 compared to 48.19 million tonnes in July 2018.
The company for FY19 reported raw coal production of 606.89 million tons as against 567.37 tons for FY18 registering 7 per cent YoY increase. The offtake of raw coal during this period stood at 608.14 tons in comparison to 580.29 tons for the earlier fiscal.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company engaged in the production of non-coking coal and coking coal of different grades for diverse applications.
At 2:15 pm, on Friday, the stock traded at Rs. 198.50 per share, down by 2 per cent on BSE.
