Closing Bell: Sensex closes above 271 points, Nifty up by 73 points
After ending the day in red on Wednesday, the Sensex closed today’s trading session in green, which is, above 200 points and Nifty too ended in green. While the Sensex closed at 41,386.40 levels, up by 0.66 per cent, Nifty closed at 12,179.90 levels, up by 0.60 per cent.
The top five gainers on BSE which took Sensex higher are-L&T-up by 2.98 per cent, M&M-up by 2.31 per cent, State Bank of India-up by 2.26 per cent, Titan-up by 2.25 per cent and Infosys-up by 1.90 per cent.
BSE mid-cap gained 1.06 per cent and managed to close at 15,701.81 while BSE small-cap inched up to 0.95 per cent and closed at 14,772.32 levels. Small-cap stocks like AXISCADES Engineering Technologies Ltd and Sadhana Nitrochem Ltd were the star performers, clocking gain up to 19.95 per cent and 12.89 per cent, respectively.
Among the sectoral indices, the top three sectors are-S&P BSE Capital Goods-up by 2.33 per cent, followed by BSE Realty-up by 2.04 per cent and BSE OIL & GAS-up by 1.83 per cent.
