The BSE Sensex closed in green at 58,862.57 jumping by 1.46 per cent. Similarly, the BSE MidCap also rose by 264 points to a level of 24,877 points i.e. by 1.08 per cent. The BSE SmallCap index also surge by 269 points and landed at 29,496 levels up by 0.92 per cent. Among sectors, auto and oil & gas indices ended in the red. The BSE Basic Material, Capital Goods and Metal sector were the foremost sector gaining more than 3.23, 2.93 and 4.92 per cent, respectively.
The top gainers on BSE Sensex exchange were ICICI Bank, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, HCL Technologies. Whereas, the top loser on the BSE Sensex exchange were State Bank Of India, Reliance, Power Grid Corporation Of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel. The total stocks traded today were 3,449 out of which 1,762 advanced and 1,585 stocks declined, 102 stocks were unchanged. The number of stocks that were locked in the upper circuit is 323 and the number of stocks that were locked in the lower circuit today was 340. In today's trading session, 169 stocks have made a 52-week high and 19 stocks made a 52-week low today.
