PNC Infratech receives Rs 37.02 crore bonuses for the early project completion; stock skyrocketed 8 per cent. The stock of DJ Mediaprint & Logistics soars over 5 per cent after securing a deal from Maharashtra Government.
BSE Sensex closed with a bang, skyrocketing 874 points to 57,911.68 points. Sensex Midcap index has improved by 314 points to end the day at 24,873 levels. BSE Smallcap index hopped 385 points to close at 29,358 levels. The Top Gainers on BSE Sensex today were Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, and Reliance Industries. On the other hand, the stocks of Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, and Nestle India turned out to be the Top Losers.
Nifty 50 jumped 256 points at the 17,392 mark. Likewise, Bank Nifty soared 501 points and closed the day at 36,816 levels. The top gaining stocks were Eicher Motors, Coal India, Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, and Mahindra & Mahindra. The stocks losing the most were Cipla, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, Tata Steel, and Bajaj Auto.
The total stocks traded today were 3,521, out of which 2,303 advanced while 1,115 stocks declined. There were 103 stocks that were unchanged. The number of stocks that were locked in the upper circuit was 12 while only three stocks closed in the lower circuit today. Around 167 stocks touched a fresh 52-week high while 17 stocks hit a new 52-week low today.
