BSE top gainers: Adani Wilmar surges by more than 18 per cent on its second trading day
In just two days, the stock price has rallied by nearly 40 per cent since its listing on BSE.
Adani Wilmar Ltd (AWL), the edible oil manufacturing company, has made its entry in the BSE’s top gainer’s list after the share price surged by more than 17 per cent today.
At 11.30 am, on BSE, the company’s shares were trading at Rs 314.5, up by 18.61 per cent from the previous day’s closing price of Rs 265.20.
The company conducted its IPO in late January and was listed on the bourses yesterday at a discount. On its first day, the stock price was listed at Rs 221 on BSE, and at the closing bell, the stock traded at Rs 265.20, showcasing a rally of 20 per cent.
AWL is a joint venture (JV) between the multinational conglomerate Adani Group, and the Wilmar Group. The company is the owner of the edible oil brand “Fortune”, which is the largest selling edible oil brand in the country. As of date, the company has 22 plants across 10 states in India. While it is the biggest importer of crude edible oil, it is also the largest manufacturer and exporter of castor oil in India.
