BSE provides additional transparency on filing of schemes
The company is now providing a live status of applications filed by listed entities for their Schemes of Arrangement on the online filing portal. This provides additional transparency to the listed companies about the status of their filings for schemes on the BSE exchange.
BSE Limited, which is Asia’s fastest and the only listed Indian stock exchange, had introduced its online filing portal called Listing Centre a while ago. When the company moved to the mandatory online filing of all compliance and listing applications, BSE decided to post online the status of the stage of approval within BSE. The status will reflect as to when the exchange provided observations to the market regulator on the schemes. Once the final document is received from the company, the exchange is required to provide its observations to SEBI, as per guidelines.
The new feature will boost the confidence of companies and provide better insight as to the stage of processing of their application. Further on, BSE plans to roll out in a phased manner online status displays for all types of listing related applications made through its exchange on BSE Listing Centre.
