BSE India INX achieves a new landmark
India INX which is promoted by BSE is India's first International Exchange (India INX) at Gandhinagar Gift City. BSE reported that India INX has witnessed a new landmark with an all-time high daily turnover of more than USD 4.9 billion.
The India International Exchange crosses the highest ever daily turnover of USD 4.9 billion equivalent to nearly Rs 36866 crore on its derivative segment in daily trading turnover. Since trading activities commenced on January 16, 2017, the India INX has experienced rapid growth. Its average daily trading volume has crossed an excess of USD2.25 billion which is around Rs 16845 crore in June 2020, hence, registering a 16.47 per cent growth in average daily trading volumes compared to that of the previous month. Led by a substantial jump in market participation, its cumulative trading turnover has crossed USD982.59 billion which is almost equivalent to Rs 7356661 crore.
The exchange which is a wholly owned subsidiary of BSE is based in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) located in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) and provides a common platform for all asset classes namely equities, currencies and commodities. India INX enjoys a leadership position in the IFSC GIFT City and has a market share of more than 90 per cent as of June 2020.
