BSE Healthcare Index Up By 1.05 per cent; Sequent Scientific Top Gainer; Thyrocare Technologies Top Loser!

Sequent Scientific stole the show rising by a mega 8.76 per cent followed by Dishman Carbogen Amcis and Gufic BioSciences, which were all up by more than 5 per cent each on Monday.

The BSE Healthcare index outperformed the broader indices after recording gains of 262.99 points or 1.05 per cent, when Sensex fell by 189.45 points or 0.36 per cent to close at 52,735.59.

Veteran industry players like Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Cadila Healthcare, Ajanta Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma all stood strong throughout the day and ended the day up by more then 2 per cent each.

Metropolis Healthcare and Wockhardt both plunged by more than 4 per cent. While, Thyrocare Technologies thrust to the limelight plummeting by 9.73 per cent. The parent company of unicorn startup PharmEasy, on Friday after market hours announced they will be acquiring 66.1 per cent stake in the company for Rs. 4,546 crore, which is Rs. 1,300 per equity share.

Venus Remedies and Wanbury also shined on the bourses by recording gains of more than 5 per cent each.
