BSE Basic Materials: These small-cap stocks emerged as the top sectoral gainers on August 23

With a negative start to the day, all sectors that traded in red reversed and ended in green with the Basic Material sector gaining 1.28 per cent in today’s session.  

At the closing bell on August 23, the Sensex closed at 59,031.30, up by 0.44 per cent or 257.43 points. 

Bhansali Engineering Polymers and Pennar Industries witnessed positive action in today’s session.  

Bhansali Engineering Polymers gained 11.36 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 124. The shares of the company hit intra-day highs and lows of Rs 75.75 and Rs 65, respectively. The company is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of ABS Resins, AES Resins, ASA resins, SAN resins and their alloys with other plastics in the Indian market.  

Pennar Industries witnessed a gain of 7.49 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 44.50. The shares of the company hit intra-day highs and lows of Rs 126.25 and 109.10, respectively. The company is a multi-location, multi-product company manufacturing precision engineering products, Pre-Engineered Building Systems and Hydraulics, and Warehousing solutions.
