Know which Tata Group companies rallied in Dalal Street defying market weakness

The festive month of September started amid weak sentiments at D-Street. At the closing bell on September 1, the Sensex closed at 58766.59 up by 1.3 per cent or 770 points, while the Nifty index closed at 17,542.80 down by 216.5 points or 1.2 per cent. 

As most sectoral indices closed in red S&P BSE Telecom showed strength, gaining 2.2 per cent in today’s session and closed at 1,758.45. 

Tata Teleservices and Tata Communications witnessed positive action in today’s session.  

   Shares of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML) zoomed 16.87 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 126.75. This multibagger stock has surged 244 per cent in the last one year while it has risen exponentially by 35times or 3530 per cent in two years. The shares of TTML have been witnessing positive momentum since the last session where it was locked in the upper circuit of 20 per cent. In just two sessions the shares of TTML have risen 40 per cent. 

Another telecom stock from the Tata Group, Tata Communications rallied 4.68 per cent in today’s session to close at Rs 1257.65. Intraday high and low registered by the shares of Tata Communications were at Rs 1270.25 and 1187.55, respectively. It is a leading player in emerging markets providing a wide range of communication, collaboration, cloud, mobility, connected solutions, network and data centre services.
