BSE 500: These healthcare stocks emerged as the top sectoral gainers on September 26

Know which healthcare stocks rallied on the bourses.

Amid geopolitical uncertainty and unbridled inflation, global currencies depreciated against the dollar while Rupee hit a new all-time low at Rs 81.50 per dollar.  

  At the closing bell on September 26, the Sensex closed at 57314.49, weaker by 1.4 per cent or 784.43 points.  

  Hester Biosciences, J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Metropolis witnessed positive action in today’s session.   

  Hester Biosciences Ltd gained 10.20 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 2167. The shares of the company were under selling pressure logging new 52-week lows in consecutive sessions. The stock opened at Rs 1930 which is a new 52-week low for Hester and thereafter witnessed a sharp recovery gaining 16 per cent, driven by fresh buying at lower levels. Hester hit intra-day highs and lows of Rs 2205 and Rs 1930, respectively. Hester Biosciences is the largest poultry vaccine manufacturer and one of the leading animal healthcare companies in India. 

  J B Chemical & Pharmaceuticals Ltd witnessed a gain of 3.48 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 1916. The shares of the company hit intra-day highs and lows of Rs 1941 and 1817.05, respectively. The stock has been witnessing profit booking in recent sessions after logging a fresh all-time high at Rs 2045.80 on September 14. JB Chemical is one of India's leading pharmaceutical companies with a focus on supplying affordable, quality products both in India and internationally. 

Metropolis Healthcare gained 3.12 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 1505.95. The shares of the leading diagnostic company were under selling pressure as it logged a fresh 52-week low on September 20 at Rs 1318.40. The stock is witnessing fresh buying at lower levels with intra-day highs and lows of Rs 1515 and Rs 1428, respectively.
