Blue Star share rises on winning order worth Rs 128 crore

Blue Star Limited, an air conditioning & commercial refrigeration major, announced on Monday that it has won an order worth Rs 128 crore from Wistron Infocomm. Reacting to the news, its stock gained almost 3 per cent during the early trading session on BSE.

The order is for mechanical electrical & plumbing (MEP) works for Wistron Infocomm’s factory expansion project. The scope of the order includes supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of heating, ventilation & air-conditioning (HVAC) system of 4,000 tonnes capacity, HT & LT electrical works with switchgear, etc.

Taiwan-based contract manufacturer, Wistron Infocomm is one of the major manufacturers of iPhones for Apple. It has been producing Apple devices at its factory located in Kolar (Karnataka). The company is now set to its phase II expansion as a part of which, it is constructing a large manufacturing block and an IT building.

Blue Star Limited is experiencing a gradual increase in the inflow of orders for bundled services. Presently, this order is one of the largest and fast-track projects, which is being executed by Blue Star in the factories’ segment.

At around 12.18 pm, its share was trading 1.21 per cent higher at Rs 665.45. It recorded an intraday high of Rs 677 on BSE.
