Big Move in Metals! Leading Firm Begins Copper & Brass Production at New Plant
Steel Leader Expands into Copper & Brass with 200MT/Month Production at New Facility
JTL Industries Limited has started operations at RCI Industries & Technologies Limited’s plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The company has signed an MOU with RCI to produce up to 200MT per month of copper and brass alloys through job-work. This move will allow JTL to expand its product portfolio and enter new markets.
Strengthening Manufacturing Capabilities
RCI’s plant, spread over 27,000 sq. meters, has a production capacity of 15,000 MTPA for copper and brass strips. Of this, 6,000 MTPA is allocated for value-added products. With this collaboration, JTL aims to strengthen its position in the metal industry and enhance its manufacturing capabilities.
Strategic Focus on Defense and Industrial Growth
JTL’s expansion into copper and brass alloys aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The company sees an opportunity to supply bullet casings and other non-ferrous metal products, which are crucial for the defense sector. This move is expected to open new business avenues and strengthen its market presence.
Financial and Market Impact
JTL plans to take full ownership of the RCI plant once it receives approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The plant is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s revenue by FY27. This strategic step supports JTL’s goal of diversifying its business and increasing revenue streams.
Company Growth and Future Plans
JTL is among India’s fastest-growing steel tube manufacturers, with five production facilities across the country. The company aims to reach a total production capacity of 1 million metric tons by FY25 and expand further by FY27. With strong financials and zero debt, JTL is well-positioned to scale its operations and enhance its market leadership.
