BHEL surges by 3 per cent on commissioning hydro-electric project in J&K
State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals surged by around 3 per cent on the bourses on Thursday as the company commissioned a 330 MW Kishanganga Hydro-Electric project (HEP) in Jammu & Kashmir.
The company announced the commissioning of 110 MW Kishanganga Hydro-generating unit of the 330 MW HEP in Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday. It had completed the commissioning of the first and the second units of the project recently in the the month of March 2018. The three units of the Kishanganga HEP have been commissioned by the company within a period of 18 days.
Recently, the company also bagged an order worth Rs. 4,400 crore for establishing a 660-MW superficial thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh.
During Thursday’s trade, the company posted an intraday high of Rs. 87.15 per share and an intraday low of Rs. 86 per share on BSE. It had hit its 52-week high of Rs. 121.83 per share on April 25, 2017 and its 52-week low of Rs. 79.50 per share on March 23, 2018 on BSE, respectively.
At 12:37 hours IST, the stock was trading at Rs. 87 per share, up by 2.35 per cent on BSE on Thursday. Meanwhile, S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 33,472.55 level, higher by 1.37 per cent and NSE Nifty50 was trading at 10,277.25 level, up by 1.47 per cent.
