Bharat Electronics Q2FY19 profit spikes 39 per cent
Navratna defence PSU, Bharat Electronics reported its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2018.
The company's standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 3381.41 crore as against Rs. 2473.07 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering an increase of 36.7 per cent YoY.
The EBITDA for the quarter rose by 44.1 per cent YoY to Rs. 854.44 crore as against Rs. 592.81 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, with a corresponding margin expansion of 130 bps. The EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 25.3 per cent.
The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 571.31 crore as against Rs. 412.39 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 39 per cent YoY.
During H1FY19, the company secured new orders amounting to Rs. 14,338 crore. The total order book as on October 1, 2018, stood at Rs. 48,995 crore.
Today, the stock opened at Rs 82.90 and jumped 9 per cent, cheering the quarterly numbers and made an intra-day high of Rs. 90.95 on the BSE.
