In the latest market session, both the Sensex and Nifty recorded modest losses, with a decrease of 0.38 per cent and 0.24 per cent, respectively.

Market Update at 3:40 PM: In the latest market session, both the Sensex and Nifty recorded modest losses, with a decrease of 0.38 per cent and 0.24 per cent, respectively. Nifty Midcap closed 0.09 per cent lower, while Nifty Smallcap saw a marginal 0.15 per cent increase.

India VIX experienced a slight decline of 0.62 per cent, signalling reduced market volatility.

Notable sector performances included Nifty Auto, Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG as the top gainers, while Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy, and Nifty Financial Services lagged behind.

Among individual stocks, Bajaj Auto, Nestle India, and Hero Motocorp registered gains, while SBIN, Axis Bank, and Tech Mahindra faced losses within the Nifty 50 index.

In the broader market, approximately 955 stocks advanced, while 1074 stocks declined, reflecting a slightly negative sentiment among investors.

Market Update at 2:15 PM: In the current market landscape, both the Sensex and Nifty are trading with marginal declines of 0.16 per cent and 0.1 per cent, respectively. Nifty Midcap is also showing a marginal dip of 0.08 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap is on the rise, registering an increase of 0.11 per cent.

Market volatility, indicated by India VIX, remains relatively stable with a slight decrease of 0.52 per cent.

Among the leading sectors, Nifty Auto, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Media are among the top gainers, whereas Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Energy are the sectors displaying underperformance.

Noteworthy gainers within the Nifty 50 index encompass Bajaj Auto, Nestle India, and Coal India. Conversely, SBIN, Axis Bank, and Tech Mahindra are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

In the broader market, approximately 995 stocks are advancing, while 1020 stocks are in decline, indicating a minor negative sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:35 PM: In the current market scenario, both the Sensex and Nifty are undergoing a slight decline of 0.17 per cent and 0.13 per cent, respectively. Nifty Midcap is also trading lower with a decrease of 0.22 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap is showing a marginal uptick of 0.21 per cent.

Market volatility, represented by India VIX, remains relatively stable with a slight decline of 0.09 per cent.

European markets are anticipated to open on a weaker note, with European futures for DAX, FTSE, and CAC trading lower by 0.44 per cent, 0.46 per cent, and 0.79 per cent, respectively.

Within the major sectors, Nifty Media, Nifty Auto, and Nifty PSU Bank are trading positively, while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Pharma are among the sectors displaying underperformance.

Prominent gainers within the Nifty 50 index include Bajaj Auto, LTI Mindtree, and Nestle India. Conversely, Wipro, UPL, and Tech Mahindra are among the top decliners.

Across the broader market, approximately 987 stocks are advancing, while 1028 stocks are in decline, indicating a minor negative sentiment prevailing in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:11 AM: In the current market session, both the Sensex and Nifty are undergoing a moderate decline of 0.52 per cent and 0.49 per cent, respectively. While Nifty Midcap is trading lower with a decrease of 0.42 per cent, Nifty Smallcap is showing a marginal uptick of 0.1 per cent.

Market volatility, as measured by India VIX, remains relatively stable with a minor increase of 0.48 per cent.

Among the major sectors, only Nifty Auto is trading positively, while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Energy are among the sectors underperforming.

Notable gainers within the Nifty 50 index include Bajaj Auto, LTI Mindtree, and IndusInd Bank, while Wipro, UPL, and Hindalco are among the leading decliners.

In the broader market, around 804 stocks are advancing, compared to 1194 stocks that are declining, reflecting a prevalent negative sentiment across the broader market.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: In the opening of the latest market session, both the Sensex and Nifty began with a decline of 0.74 per cent and 0.75 per cent, respectively. Additionally, Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap displayed a lower opening with a decrease of 0.75 per cent and 0.47 per cent, respectively.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, experienced a slight 1.07 per cent increase, suggesting a minor uptick in market turbulence.

Almost all the sectors are underperforming, with Nifty Metal, Nifty Financial Services, and Nifty Realty among the top losing sectors.

Prominent gainers within the Nifty 50 index include Bajaj Auto, LTI Mindtree, and IndusInd Bank. Conversely, Wipro, Hindalco, and Tata Steel are among the leading decliners.

In the broader market, approximately 610 stocks advanced, compared to 1275 stocks that registered declines, indicating a prevailing negative sentiment across the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 7:55 AM: US stock markets concluded Wednesday's session with significant losses, as both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq declined by over 1 per cent each. This decline was attributed to the resurgence of Treasury yields and the evaluation of the most recent corporate earnings reports and forecasts.

Furthermore, rising tensions in the Middle East contributed to an increase in risk aversion, resulting in safe-haven assets like gold reaching their highest levels in over two months. Wall Street's fear indicator, the Cboe Volatility index, also experienced a notable jump.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a drop of 0.98 per cent decrease, closing at 33,665.08. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 reported a loss 1.34 per cent and concluded at 4,314.6. The Nasdaq Composite was impacted the most, with a 1.62 per cent drop, closing at 13,314.30.

On Thursday, oil prices retreated, reversing their previous session's gains. This reversal came as OPEC displayed no indications of backing Iran's proposal for an oil embargo on Israel and due to the United States' intentions to relax sanctions on Venezuela, thus facilitating a greater global oil supply. Specifically, Brent futures for December dropped by 74 cents, bringing the barrel's price down to USD 90.76.

Indications from GIFT Nifty point towards a negative commencement for the benchmark indices in India, with a decrease of 24 points or 0.13 per cent. The Nifty futures are currently trading around the 19,569 level.

On October 18, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 1,831.84 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) purchased shares worth Rs 1,469.50 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on October 19, 2023, are BALRAMCHIN, DELTACORP, GNFC, HINDCOPPER, IBULHSGFIN, INDIACEM, MANAPPURAM, MCX and SAIL.
