Bajaj Auto witnesses 10 per cent jump in sales; shares climb 4 per cent
The shares of Bajaj Auto were trading in the green on Thursday after the company reported a 10 per cent increase in its total vehicle sales at 4,41,306 units in September. The automaker sold a total of 4,02,035 vehicles in September 2019.
The total two-wheeler sales in September stood at 4,04,851 units as compared to 3,36,730 units in the same month of 2019, a jump of 20 per cent. Whereas the total commercial vehicle sales, however, plunged 44 per cent in the previous month to 36,455 units as compared to 65,305 vehicles sold in September 2019, the company stated in a regulatory filing to BSE.
In September, Bajaj Auto's exports went up by 14 per cent to 2,12,575 units, as compared to 1,86,534 units in September 2019. In fact, this was the highest ever exports that the company has recorded.
On Thursday, the stock of Bajaj Auto closed at Rs 2,985.75 per share, up by 3.69 per cent or Rs 106.25 per share on BSE, against a 1.65 per cent gain in the benchmark index. The 52-week high is recorded at Rs 3,315 and the 52-week low is Rs 1,793.10 on BSE.
