Bajaj Auto reports strong topline growth
Bajaj Auto's consolidated revenue for Q2FY19 came in at Rs. 7,986.79 crore, registering 21.6 per cent yoy increase. During the quarter, the company recorded highest ever volume of 13,39,444 units, while domestic volume stood at 6,92,899 units.
On the domestic front, Motorcycles and CV division recorded volume growth of 19 per cent and 32 per cent, respectively from the corresponding quarter of last year. While volume for overall export grew 33 per cent yoy.
Bajaj Auto’s domestic motorcycle market share for September 2018 stood at 20.1 per cent as against 16.9 per cent in Q2FY18 while in commercial vehicle segment the company continues to be a market leader with an overall share in domestic market at 58.9 per cent.
EBITDA for the quarter rose by 3.4 per cent yoy to Rs. 1,342.19 crore with a corresponding margin contraction of 295 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 16.8 per cent. This was due to a higher cost of raw material in proportionate to sales.
The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 1,256.57 crore, yoy increase of 5.3 per cent.
