Bajaj Auto posts 18 per cent sales growth in March
India’s leading two and three-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto issued a press release in reporting its sales numbers for the month of March, on Tuesday.
The auto sales number were largely positive when compared on YoY basis. Total sales, including motorcycles and commercial vehicles, rose by 18 per cent during March 2019 in comparison to March 2018 sales. The major highlight during March 2019 was a strong rise in domestic motorcycle sales which rose by 39 per cent and robust exports of commercial vehicles.
The company sold 2,20,213 units of motorcycles in March 2019 as against 1,58,987 in the same month last year. While the two-wheeler exports saw a decline of 7 per cent, which stood at 1,03,325. Bajaj Auto highlighted that Pulsar sales crossed 1,00,000 unit sales mark for the time ever. Commercial vehicle sales continued to be under pressure in the domestic market. Company was able to sell 38,972 units in March 2019 as compared to 44,613 units during the same month last calendar year.
On Tuesday, the stock of Bajaj Auto touched an intraday high of Rs. 2,936. At 12:52 hour, the stock traded at per share price of Rs. 2,878.00 on BSE.
