Philips Carbon Black PAT jumps 280 per cent
Philips Carbon Black reported its results for the quarter ended December 31, 2017 on Wednesday. The company's standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 612.4 crore, registering 13.7 per cent yoy increase, supported by 14.2 per cent jump in revenue from carbon black segment.
EBITDA for the quarter rose by 49.8 per cent yoy to Rs. 96.9 crore with a corresponding margin expansion of 381 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 15.8 per cent.
The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 56.59 crore, yoy increase of 280.3 per cent. This was due to significant decline in effective tax rate from 63 per cent to 28 per cent aided to the growth of the bottomline.
Today, the stock opened at Rs. 1,260 per share and touched an intra-day high and low of Rs. 1,294.95 and Rs. 1,180, respectively, on the BSE.
