Market Wrap: Benchmark indices close on a negative note with Nifty Auto and Realty among the top losers!

Market Update at 3:40 PM: On Monday, Benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a negative note as Sensex declined by 1.49 per cent and closed at 84,299.78, while Nifty declined by 1.41 per cent and closed at 25,810.85 level. However, the Broader market, Nifty Midcap closed lower by 0.38 per cent at 60,153.80, while Nifty Smallcap closed lower by 0.32 per cent and closed at 19,179.65.
Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, rose by 6.94 per cent and is trading at the level of 12.79 reflecting a rise in market volatility.
Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Metal and Nifty Media emerged as Top Gainers, while Nifty Auto, Nifty Fin Service and Nifty Realty are the sectors which underperformed.
JSWSTEEL, NTPC and HINDALCO were among the top gainers while on the other hand HEROMOTOCO, TRENT, and RELIANCE were among the Top Losers.

Market Update at 9:30 AM: On Friday, Indian markets opened on a flat note, with both Nifty and Sensex showing minimal movement. Nifty IT led the gains, while Nifty Realty was the biggest laggard.
As of now, the Sensex is up by 0.05 per cent, hovering around 85,870, and Nifty is slightly up by 0.09 per cent, trading near 26,240. Pre-Market Update at 8:25 AM: Treasury yields and the dollar dropped, while the Dow reached a record high on Friday. A lower-than-expected U.S. inflation report boosted hopes for a large interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve at its November meeting.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 137.89 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 42,313.00. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 dipped 7.20 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 5,738.17, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 70.70 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 18,119.59.
The GIFT Nifty is trading lower, signaling a negative opening for the day. Nifty futures are currently trading at 26,459.15.
Oil prices rose slightly on Monday as worries grew about possible supply disruptions from the Middle East after Israel intensified attacks on Iranian-backed forces.
Brent crude futures for November rose by 16 cents, or 0.22 per cent, to $72.14 a barrel. The December contract, which is more actively traded, increased by 10 cents, or 0.14 per cent, to $71.64. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures went up 8 cents, or 0.12 per cent, to $68.26 a barrel.
On September 27, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 1,209 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 6,886 crore.
